FALL FASHION TREND: Leather

Deep in the throughs of fall and fall fashion, a longtime fashion staple has made a huge comeback this year.

Leather has always been 'in', however, the stakes in this most valuable fall and winter must have, has definitely been raised.

From coats to trim, you will, most assuredly find leather incorporated into this falls' hottest trends. The designers have pulled out all of the stops to breathe new life into this fashion staple.

A big leather trend that is seen on many celebrities are the leather sleeves. This style has been incorporated into dresses as well as many high fashion shirts, sweaters, and pantsuits.

Also, very popular, are leather peplum tops, skirts, and dresses, paired with cotton, silk and rayon materials to give it that added flair.

Different colors of leather are also hitting a high note in the fashion community. Anywhere from the bright and bold to classic black and burgundy.

Gone are the days where leather was for the pencil thin. Plus sized high fashion designers are cashing in on this scalding hot trend. All my plus size fashionistas are rocking the lastest leather styles and making it look good while doing so. From leather leggings to pencil skirts, plus size divas are getting it in.

So, this fall however you choose to insert leather into your fall wardrobe, make sure that you wear it well and make it count.

Happy Shopping

TEEN CHOICE AWARDS: Red Carpet Wrap-up

The Teen Choice Awards have wrapped but the fashion is in full swing.

The red or shall I say blue carpet was chock-full of this years hottest summer fashions. Some of next years' runway looks even debuted at the TCA's.

Though these awards are light-hearted and fun for the teens, the seriousness of the fashion trends seen on the red(blue) carpet was out of this world.

There were bright colors, (which was the theme for this summer), basic blacks, (which are always in), and jumpers to die for.

The Teen Choice Awards proved that you don't have to be a teen to get in on the fun and flirty styles. The adults definitely brought it on the blue carpet. Notable were Kerry Washington as well Tia and Tamera Mowry, amongst many others.

There were also some that felt that skin was in and decided to bare it all, well, not necessarily all, but a large part of their bodys' were showing and they felt no remorse.

For the most part, however, many were fully clothed and had an absolute blast. While there were a few somber moments, as when the 'Glee' cast members honored their fallen cast mate, Cory Monteith, which brought many to tears, myself included. But the rest of the Teen Choice Awards were just as upbeat and exciting as they always are.

I'm definitely ready to see what's in store for next years TCA's. Until then, take a look a the 2013 red(blue) carpet highlights.

BOY MEETS GIRL: 2013 Tomboy Trend

Though the summer is quickly coming to an end, the summer fashion trends are still making headlines.

The boyish look or tomboy trend was all abuzz in the winter preview for spring and summer fashion of this year, and that prediction was spot on.

This trend has taken full flight from the runway to our local retail and discount stores.

Target is one of the biggest supporters of this trend and carries a variety of these awesome runway looks that are very affordable.

This trend has even been seen on many a red carpet this year. The celebs have really taken to this new casual, sleek, and rugged trend. They have been seen and photographed rocking the tomboy look as an everyday relaxed ensemble paired with a wedge sneaker or embellished flats, grabbing coffee from Starbucks. Whereas others have opted to pair their look with a wedge heel or stilettos while going to a dinner with friends or their significant other.

Whether dressed up or down, as summer dwindles and merges into fall, this tomboy trend seems to not be fizzling or fading anytime soon. Will you hop aboard the tomboy train?
