Whats Hot & Whats Not:: Lacefronts

There is always a lot of talk about the lacefront wigs. I'm always seeing them everywhere I go and truthfully they are not impressing! I understand Beyonce and other celebs have been wearing them for years but since they've been popping in the black community lately they look like glued on helmets. Would you rock a lacefront?

Poll: Men Love Megan Fox, Women Prefer...Beyonce!

Men are different than women even when it comes to like ...women. According to a women poll, Beyonce Knowles is the sexiest woman alive, while a similar men poll designed Megan Fox on the first position.

So if asked, nineteen percent of men would like to share their lives (but mostly their beds) with 'Transformers' actress, Megan Fox.

According to Twentieth Century Fox Home Entertainment, Beyonce had won the best body in female's survey, but the Hollywood actress Megan was voted as the hottest in males survey report.

Fortunately, the poll wasn't about knowledge (just a little bit about Knowles though).

Fantasia Barrino -- High Alert After Hate Mail

Fantasia Barrino is under a self-imposed lockdown -- after the "American Idol" champ received a threatening letter.

It all started last night at the Pantages Theater in L.A. -- Fantasia was reading her fan mail after a performance of "The Color Purple."

Fantasia's manager tells us Barrino became alarmed over a disturbing letter loaded with racial slurs -- including the n-word -- and a line that read, "go back where you came from and die."

We're told the person who wrote the letter claims he used to work as a security guard for Fox while Fantasia was on "A.I."

Fantasia's manager tells us the singer immediately contacted theater security -- which then contacted the LAPD.

In the meantime, we're told the theater has "beefed up" security around Fantasia -- and all over the venue -- and will be screening anything sent to Barrino's dressing room before it gets to her.

Fantasia tells TMZ, "I will not be defeated by one isolated person's hatred."

RIP Alexander McQueen

The 40 year old great controversial British designer was found dead in his London home Thursday. After anguished Internet postings that revealed his deep sorrow at the death of his mother, circumstances pointed to a possible suicide but there was no official confirmation from police or McQueen's publicists. Police said the death was not suspicious, apparently ruling out foul play, and did not give any immediate indication of how the death was discovered.

The Sun tabloid on Thursday cited an anonymous source on its Web site who said an ambulance was called at 10 a.m. and workers found McQueen hanging in his apartment. The newspaper gave no further details.

McQueen's sudden death robbed the fashion scene of one of its most innovative and successful young designers. His clothes were sexy and distinctive, dramatic and different, perfect for red-carpet presentations and late night rock gatherings.

He made his name first in London, then wooed audiences in Paris, New York and Milan to take his place in the upper echelons of the design world.

Yet recently posted comments on his Twitter page showed that McQueen was distraught over the Feb. 2 death of his mother. He said he wanted his mother to rest in peace "but life must go on!!!!!!!!!!!!!!"

Using an obscenity, he added that he had had an "awful week" and said he had to "some how pull myself together and finish."

Alicia Keys "Try Sleeping With a Broken Heart" Live

Meeeooow: A Pretty Chick Spitting FIRE!!!

Hot Yella is a fast rising name emerging from the Tallahassee area. Recent cosigns from DJs Storm and Supastar J Kwik have a lot of people checking for Yella, and her new song “Miss Me” is taking off in Florida.

By Ms. Rivercity

Introduce yourself and tell us how you started rapping.
Well, I started off singing. The first time I ever recorded anything I was in 7th grade. I actually rapped a little back then, but I started out singing. I also write music – I write R&B and Hip Hop records. I’m an artist on Triple Threat, so a lot of people know me for my tagline “Triple Threat.”

Where are you from originally?
I’m from Tallahassee. I was born in Florida. I’m also from Madison, Wisconsin and Las Vegas. I moved around a lot. In high school I went to three different schools. I moved around a lot in middle and elementary school too, so my versatility comes through in my music.

Do you still sing at all? Or are you strictly rapping now?
Yeah, I still sing on some of my hooks. I’m mostly rapping right now though. I’m making a lot of fun records, a lot of club records right now. That’s what I really love to do – make feel-good, happy music, stuff for the ladies. But I also write R&B records and sing.

Tell us about the “Miss Me” song you have buzzing on the net.“Miss Me” is out right now. I really wanna give a big shout out to Supastar J Kwik in Tallahasse, also all the DJs on Twitter, Facebook, and Myspace supporting the record. “Miss Me” is a song for the ladies. There’s a free download on HotYella.com.

What’s the situation with you and DJ Storm? Are you her artist or is she just helping you get your name out there?
Storm and I work together. I had been doing music for a while [before we linked up]. We worked in radio together. I interned at the station Blazin’ 102.3 for about a year and we became friends. She hosted my mixtape that I put out last June. I was gonna put out the mixtape anyway, and Storm was like, “I’m all about my ladies, chicks in charge.” So she wanted to host it. It turned out to be a real good mixtape. It’s called Life of a Triple Threat. You can also check that out on my website.

Are you doing another mixtape soon?
I’m working on singles right now. I’m coming out with something every couple months. Right now I got “Miss Me,” I got a freestyle to Jay-Z’s “On to the Next.” It got on a mixtape this week and “Miss Me” got on two mixtapes this week. I also got a new single coming out called “Cat Walk.”

You mentioned interning at the radio station. What were some things you learned in the internship that have helped with your music career?
It was a promotional internship and I also did a couple call-ins. It helped me. Radio and doing music is somewhat alike. You have to be good at networking and dealing with people. There’s a lot of good information you can learn in radio and bring that over into music.

It seems like Tallahassee would be a good market to gain a fanbase with all the college students living there. Is that an advantage for you?
Yeah, 100 percent. We have all these universities here. If you can’t touch the people here and make a mark in the music industry, then it’s probably gonna be way harder for you to do it in a different market. There’s so many students and people thirsty for entertainment and clubs.

As a representative for the ladies, what do you feel is missing from the game as far as that goes?
There’s an obvious lack of female artists. I think a lot of it has to do with how women present themselves as a business entity. A lot of men look at it as more of a business. But with Lady Gaga and Nicki Minaj, people like that, I think it’s going to be changing soon. People are really thirsty to hear a good female artist. There’s gonna be more to come from “bad bitches.”

What else do you have in the works?
Look out for my new single and keep yourself updated on HotYella.com. That’s where everything is, links to my Myspace, Facebook, Twitter. For booking you can contact 26 Talent at 850-320-1030. All my ladies, keep your heads up and you’ll hear more to come. //

Victoria Beckham: “I’m Not a Supermodel”

Victoria Beckham is rarely snapped without her super-high heels and oversize shades, but, the star reveals, her “Posh” persona is hardly an accurate portrayal of her. “I love fashion, and that’s how I express myself,” Victoria tells Glamour in their March issue.

“When I dress in a certain way and do my hair and makeup in a certain way, it’s not to get attention. I’m not a supermodel. I make the best of what I’ve got. I work out to look the best that I can, but I’m no Gisele.”

In fact, Victoria even cops to suffering for her love of fashion, just like the rest of us. Of her signature stilettos, the 35 year-old admits, “Absolutely they hurt. I’m not going to lie. But no pain, no gain, as they say. I don’t mind. I will suffer. I don’t wear heels every day, but when I’m out, that’s how I feel confident.”

Following the success of her star-loved line of dresses, Victoria is getting back into the denim game with the spring relaunch of her jeans collection. “I’m such a perfectionist,” she explains of taking a few seasons off from denim design. “I’ve worked really hard [with my team] to get it right.”

And this time around, it was all about the silhouette: “Long, slim legs. Really good design. I’m not saying that you’ve got to be a stick to wear them. You can be all different shapes and sizes.”

Pick up Glamour’s March issue, on newsstands February 9, or visit Glamour.com to hear more from Victoria.

Kim K: What Were U Thinking episode

Miss America 2010: Caressa Cameron

A 22-year-old Virginia woman who said she once thought her only talent was singing is the nation's newest Miss America, emerging from a field of 53 contestants picked for their beauty, compassion and interview savvy.

Caressa Cameron, a broadcast journalism student at Virginia Commonwealth University, now plans a second year away from college as she travels extensively to raise money for charity and carry the 89-year-old pageant's crown.

"I hope to gain inspiration, I hope to gain momentum so that when this 365 days is over, I can shoot through the moon," Cameron told The Associated Press.

Cameron, the first black Miss America since Ericka Dunlap in 2005, says she wants to get a master's degree and eventually become a news anchor.

Cameron, the daughter of a background researcher for the government and a contractor, said she was inspired to compete in pageants at age 14, when Miss Virginia 2003 Nancy Redd visited her school.
