AWARDS SEASON: The Grammys

The parties are over, the red carpet is pulled up, and the awards given out. The Grammy Awards have wrapped and once again brought all of the stars out in grade 'A' fashion.

There were fashion explosions and a lot of skin being shown. The cut outs and the illusive skin dresses were in full bloom on last nights' red carpet.

From reality stars to the queen of modern day R & B music, the red carpet erupted with skintastic outfits that breathe life into all of us.

Many designers dawned their red carpet looks on the rich and famous, and most hit the ball right out of the park. Some, not so much, and may need to go back to the drawing board.

Most noted looks of the night ranged from the 'Queen Bey' herself, Beyoncé Knowles in a sheer white Michael Costello gown to singer Katy Perry whose gown hit a musical high-note.

Some of the style misses that had even social media going crazy was Pharrell Williams' enormous Vivienne Westwood park ranger hat. This hat got more attention, tweets, and memes that Arby's won tweet of the night for funniest comment on this outlandish accessory.

While the fun and laughter ensued, I must mention that Pharrell along with artist Daft Punk won album of the year.

Pharrell, however was not the only fashion 'don't' of night. Some style mishaps that made front page ranged from actress Paula Patton to comedienne Katherine Griffin. These ladies were high stepping to a similar tune of 'you shouldn't have worn that'!

Hindsight, though, is 20/20 and hopefully those glam squads, fashion moguls, and style experts take the loss, regroup, and come back with something explosive.

Awards season has just begun so I'm sure they'll have another chance to get it right. I definitely will be looking out for those extraordinary fashion moments that will set the red carpet ablaze and have everyone still reeling long after it's over.

Till next time,

IT'S COLOR TIME: NYFW Spring 2014 Colors Are In

New York Fashion Week is in full swing. The designers, models , and stylist are rocking the runway. And the celebs are front and center, supporting their friends, while getting a jump on next years' fashion trends.

Patone's color predictions for next spring are out and the designers did not hesitate to light up the runway with each and every one of them, mixing and matching to perfection.

Cayenne which is a fiery red/orange, Violet Tulip which is a deep pastel purple, and Placid Blue that is a clear sky blue, were just three of the top ten colors that blazed

Top shoemakers and designers have already started making and incorporating next spring's new colors in the footwear. Flats, wedges, stilettos, and sneakers are all in production and ready to go.

Nail polish and accessories are falling right in line as well. All ten of the top colors for next year also debuted on the models hands, necks, and ears at NYFW. They certainly made a statement of their own.

At a glance, it looks like Spring 2014 is going to be a mix of pastels and vivid colors. I'm really excited for the up and coming designers, couture, high end and middle of the road alike to get us laced from head to toe, with the top runway, celeb inspired, and red carpet fashion trends.

2013 VMA's: Red Carpet Wrap-Up

Brooklyn's first time hosting MTV's Video Music Awards brought out a lot of glitz and glamour as well as stylish and chic.

Leopard, lace, and leather were top textures and patterns that graced the VMA red carpet last night. From singer/dancer Ciara to singer Katy Perry the red carpet roared, literally.

Though the VMA's are better known for being footloose and fancy free, the stars gave it a Golden Globe, old Hollywood kinda feel.

They showed up in extended trains, ruffles, feathers, and gowns that hugged in all the right places.

Of course, no awards show is exempt from those that didn't quite get it right but all eyes were on the ones that absolutely did.

The runway looks that were altered and those that remained in their original states brought a lot of smiles and cheers to the designers that created them.

Speaking of designers, top designers that made the red carpet pop, were, for one, Max Azria's Herve Leger plunging neckline dress worn by singer/songwriter Taylor Swift was simple, elegant, and stunning. Another notable designer seen on Taylor's best friend Selena Gomez, was Atelier Versace. The side bustier of this dress screamed grown and sexy. Last but not least, as aforementioned, Ciara rocked a see through feather and lace number by Givency which was also seen on Beyonce in 2012.

All in all, the 2013 VMA red carpet was on fire and the glam squads did their thing once again, making it a night of unforgettable fashion and style.
