NYFW 2014 WRAP-UP: Go Red for Women

New York Fashion Week has wrapped and the designers, models, celebrities, stylist, and glam squads have all returned to their day to day grind.

However, the mark that was left on the fashion world the very first evening of NYFW was enormous. The celebrities from the reality world to the sports world lent their hearts, hands, bodies, and checkbooks to the Red Dress show sponsored by the American Heart Association's Go Red for Women campaign.

February is National Heart Disease Awareness month and this Red Dress show definitely delivered on bringing attention to such a great cause.

From 'Real Housewives of Atlanta' star NeNe Leakes donning her spicy red Dolce & Gabana dress to the 'Food Network's' Giada DiLaurentis' Carolina Herrera gown, the runway was set ablaze with celebrities showing their support for this very important cause.

The highlight of the night, however, came when gold medalist skier Lindsay Vonn ripped the runway in her sexy Cynthia Rowley dress with her crutches as an accessory. Vonn is still recovering from knee surgery but she proved that she is definitely not letting that keep her down.

The audience, full of heart disease survivors that were also decked out in red evening gowns, made for a night to remember. The support for this cause was a huge way to bring awareness to such a devastating disease effecting women and families across America.

Kudos to the the stars and fashion designers that showed up and showed out for such an important event.

AMA's: Red Carpet Wrap-up

The American Music Award's are over, and once again we are wowed by the red carpet shenanigans of Lady Gaga to that simply amazing performance by miss Jennifer Lopez herself. And I must say that they looked absolutely astonishing while doing so.

There were a variety of celebrities that showed up and showed out on the red carpet. Jennifer Lopez not only rocked the stage with her acrobatics, her dances, and her vocals, she ripped the red carpet even before her onstage wardrobe changes times three.

There were also quite a few celebs that snatched and showcased styles right off the runway. From singer Ciara to Disney and 'Dancing with the Stars' starlet Zendaya Coleman, these ladies worked their runway ensembles better than the models themselves.

Though the red carpet was full of spunk and glamour, there were still celebs that kept it all business and opted for pant suits. And did so quite nicely may I add.

There were also a host of celebs that opted for basic black as their color of choice for the AMA red carpet. From 'Glee' star Naya Rivera to singer Rihanna, basic black was definitely a red carpet staple this year.

Of course, no award show is complete without fashion mishaps and faux pas. Supermodel Heidi Klum and Danity Kane's Aubrey O'Day, just to name a few, slipped up a little and most certainly got it wrong but for the most part the celebrity glam squads nailed their looks.

I most definitely look forward to the next red carpet event for more fashion, style, and glam!!

GET LACED: 2013 Fall Fashion Trend

One of this years hottest fall trends, lace, has definitely gone from the chapel to the runway.

No longer seen as matronly, lace, has been reinvented and dubbed 'the new lace'. The runways from New York to London Fashion Weeks have been flooded with lacing details.

This very intricate texture has long since been a fashion staple for many, many years, with emphasis on bridalwear.  However, this very chic and sophisticated pattern and texture is a red hot commodity, which has made its way on and has been incorporated in this years top designs and styles, including slacks and jumpsuits.

The red carpet has blazed the lace trail as well. A slew of stars and celebs along with their glam squads have hopped aboard the lace train. And because it has been so very well incorporated into modern designs, it didn't take much convincing.

Shoe designers are also getting in on the lace bandwagon. From the very well known Jimmy Choo to Steve Madden, lace is the 'it' texture to rock on your feet this fall. And because 'the new lace' has made such an impact this year, it can be worn, pretty much, anywhere with anything.

Top manicurist and nail techs are cashing in on the lace design as well. So much so, that actual lace has made its way onto some of the most popular hands in the world.

It is also very much 'in' to accessorize with lace, especially if you're not quite sure or sold on a full lace ensemble. Purses, earrings, bracelets, cuffs, and cell phone cases are definitely great ways to add the flair and detail to any outfit.

In addition, as with most of the hottest styles this year, you can also find lace in different colors. From very bright to classic black, lace has a color to fit all skintones and types. There are also new, different, and fun lace patterns debuting this fall season, leaving all with plenty to choose from.

So, as you transition or whether you've already transitioned into your fall and winter wardrobe, why not try to play around with, mix and match, and work 'the new lace' into some of your favorite fall ensembles.
