REVIEW AND WRAP UP: The Beat & Tamed Fashion Preview

If you were not in attendance of the 'Beat and Tamed' Outdoor Runway Preview, you missed a truly amazing show.

Mrs. Octavia Coleman owner/entrepreneur of Ice Creme Beauty Bar definitely put her body and soul into this show. The hair on those models were styled to the gods and gave everybody in the house life. Not to mention that all of the models were completely natural and Octavia used her very own LeCreme Hair products.

There was color on the hair, color on the face, and the clothes were to die for. Bright colors are in this summer and the 'Beat and Tamed' runway preview did not disappoint with the neons, reds, pinks, and yellows. 

IT FITS: The BodyCon Dress 2013

Whether you are a size 0 or 3XL the bodycon dress is a comfortable yet chic alternative to an ordinary Spring and Summer wardrobe.

The bodycon dress conforms to all body types and hugs every curve giving any woman an added boost of confidence. This shapely dress has been around for quite some time, however, this 2013 has been turned all the way up with the new and improved bodycon dress.

There are a few rules, though, when choosing a bodycon dress. It is very necessary to find colors and textures complimentary to YOUR body type, shape, and form. For example, a full figured woman may opt for a longer, darker color, black in particular, as this gives one a more slimmer look. Whereas a smaller woman may opt for a shorter, brighter color adding a belt drawing attention to her cinched waist.

The tribal print bodycon dress is on fire this season. Emerald green and reds are a close second. While floral print, color blocking, and neon are hanging tough to their top 10 spots of must haves.

Embellished bodycon dresses are also very popular this year. Gold, sheer, and spikes have been a spectacular new feature amongst these striking dresses.

The length of the bodycon dress has also made a drastic transformation. The bodycon known to be short, sexy, and form fitting is now known as the "midi" or knee length dress; While still sexy the length adds a touch of elegance to this popular style of dress. The long, floor length bodycon is also a hit this spring and summer.

While many designers have capitalized on this smoking new trend, there are still quite a few places that you can get a celeb inspired bodycon without breaking the bank. Online boutiques and smaller, local retail stores carry an array of bodycon dresses to accommodate all shapes and sizes at an affordable price.

The bodycon dress is very versatile as well. You can dress it up or down. Adding accessories, wearing sandals, or even a scarf can change the look completely, giving life and glam to any bodycon.

Though the bodycon or bandaid dress really flourished and took flight in the early nineties, it looks like its not going anywhere, anytime soon.

Swedish company H&M is introducing their new summer campaign as, “Beyoncé as Mrs. Carter in H&M.” Not only does Beyonce have the beauty and body to pull off the looks with ease, but she is the ideal icon of women empowerment, which is a major focus of the campaign. H&M wants to relay the message that women can be all things: strong, vulnerable, sensual, maternal, fun, and flirtatious. Which is all things Mrs Carter is all about.
