ALL TIE-D UP: The Bow Tie Necklace Craze

By now we've all seen the ever so popular bow tie necklace.

Though the bow tie itself was traditionally seen as or dubbed "geek" wear, the bow tie necklace has definitely become a big hit amongst the stars and fashion industry.

No longer is the bow tie seen as just a guys accessory. The bow tie which originated in 16th Century Croatia and primarily worn by men; Women have latched on and embraced this new trend and it has taken flight all over the world.

Corporate America that is usually male dominated and one that also influences the style and fashion of their female counter parts, are seeing an influx of high ranking women sporting a bow tie necklace.

This widely accepted statement piece has really taken on a life of its own. They come in all shapes, colors, sizes, and textures. You can wear a small gold, silver, or pearl bow tie to accent even the most elegant attire or a big feather or crocheted bow tie to make a bold and courageous statement.

Many wonder why the bow tie necklace has become so popular, so fast. Well, many believe that it is a symbolism of power as the first bow ties were worn by mercenaries. As we see the tables turning, and so many woman are taking their stake and making a stand in the business and entrepreneurial world, this may very well be a great piece or pieces of jewelry to keep in the arsenal for that next business meeting.

The diversity of this piece is what keeps it around as well. It can be worn with a skirt or pant business suit, you can rock it with  jeans and casual, laid back attire, or you can glam up your formal ensemble with a beaded or diamond embellished bow tie necklace.

Whether you are on board or not with this new and eye catching trend, it looks to me that this trend is most definitely going to be around for quite a while and it's influence will be seen in many styles to come.
