BUTTON UP: The Button Earring Trend

Many years ago the button earring was associated with class and sophistication. Old Hollywood latched onto the button earring with a nice clutch and pencil skirt that elongated the body and brought a nice frame to the face with a short curly hairstyle or an elegant updo.

Though this trend never completely went out of style especially amongst the baby boomers, who believed and still believe that less is more. The button earring has come back on the fashion scene full throttle.

The new generation of button earring wearers have again taken flight with an absolutely amazing new twist.

The colors, the designs, the textures, and styles have definitely evolved with the classic appeal of the button earring. Gold chains, glitter, and lace have also been added to and are just a few of the many materials used to give the button earring added flare and pizzazz.

Many are making their mark with the spectacular DIY button earrings and are putting their own unique spin on this chic fashion trend.

Gone are the days of the button earring being a dressy and sleek fashion accessory. For this trend has now been paired with a more relaxed and casual look. Jeans paired with a blouse and heels, is what makes the button earrings among the new must haves of spring and summer 2013.

Where, you may ask can you get this popular earring? Well, pretty much everyone has a stake in the button earring trend. Online boutiques, local small business owners and entrepreneurs have made fabulous handmade button earrings that will most definitely blow you away and give any retail store a run for their money. The best part is that they are star quality and very affordable.

If you are looking for a retail store that sells the button earring, Claire's, Icing, and Burlington Coat Factory have a wide variety of nice and inexpensive button earrings as well.

So button up, this earring trend is loading  up and raring to go.

What's YOUR Color!!!

Hair Color, a nice change to a boring head of hair, right? See a color you want, pick it up, or have it done at your local salon right? Wrong! There are a lot of factors that go into getting the best, but more importantly the RIGHT color to accentuate your hair.

First of all, when choosing hair color, it's very important that you know what category that you fall into. These categories are defined as Warm or Cool. Why is this so important, you may ask? Because just as when you are picking a foundation, you don't want the color clashing with your skin tone. However, your skin tone is not the only factor to choosing the perfect hair color. Your eye color, your natural, and previous artificial color play a pivotal role as well.

The Bun...Classic Yet Classy

The bun, for so many women has long been a go to style. No matter what the hair type, straight, wavy, curly, permed, or natural, we all can  rock a bun.

During the winter months a lot of women tend to let their hair grow longer yet get frustrated with what to do with.  However, the bun is a staple style for many women on the go. This classic yet classy style never gets old.

The diversity of the bun is the reason why it will always be here to stay. For example, the bun can be worn classically with the hair pulled to the back flowing into a pinned ball, or the hair can be gathered and smooth to  the side while the bun rest either at the bottom or top of the ear for a very sophisticated look. The messy bun has become very popular over the most recent years, where the hair is pulled into the classic bun however, there are strands of hair sporadically protruding from the bun. Not comfortable with all of your hair being pulled and tucked away, then add a bang and pull the bun to the top of your head for a very chic look. Going somewhere classy and formal? Add hair jewelry, a twist, or a french braid to the side or top of the hair. There are countless ways to wear your hair in a bun while accentuating your outfit and personality.

Well, don't shelve those color blocked heels just yet. Because from the look of things, this spring is going to be a very big color blocking year. The new trends are leaning towards and favoring multicolored heels and stilettos.

Remember, though, whenever coloring blocking your shoes, don't overdo the clothing. Pick the item that you are matching the heels or stilettos to. Also, don't overdo patterns when color blocking with shoes. However, you can pick a bold plaid and choose to bring out a bright color within that pattern to put emphasis on. You may also highlight one color of the color blocked shoe paired with solids, whether shirt and pant or blouse and skirt.

Get Lost: Bermuda Shorts

WHO SAID BERMUDA SHORTS WERE GONE FOR GOOD..........

I was never REALLY a fan of them when I was younger because for me they were just an awkward length, but in all actuality....they're kinda cool, versatile & chic....now that I'm more mature and older.  They work for a tall woman such as myself and also give you a more professional feel!
