If you love fashion and follow the latest trends, then you know exactly how important shoes are to an outfit.
It can, nevertheless, be very difficult to match shoes to a prom dress and/or formalwear. However, just as with any ensemble, you have to make sure that it flows properly.
For example, if you have a bright or bold colored dress, you may want to wear a metallic or nude shoe, to tone it down. You also don't want to be too matchy matchy, however, if you must wear shoes that are the same color as your dress, make sure that the textures and designs compliment and don't detract from the flow of the complete ensemble. You can also color block which is one of the top fashion trends of 2013. For instance, if you wear a dress that is one color or colors, you can opt for another color on the feet, while continuing to make sure that the colors once again are complimentary to the total package.
Trending now, as well is to match your shoes to the color of or design on your nails, accessories, and even your makeup. This is fine as long as they don't clash with the dress. Remember that the dress is the centerpiece and you don't want to take unnecessary attention away from it.
