The age old fashion faux pas of wearing pantyhose with open toed shoes, has now become a fashion trend.
Open toe shoes are no longer red flagged for cold and winter months. In fact this trend has bloomed and blossomed right alongside the quirky yet intricate patterned tights.
Though the rules of this fashion trend has been shattered and broken, there is, however, a RIGHT way to wear open toed shoes and tights or pantyhose.
The pantyhose and leg wear industry has been quite accommodating with this new trend. You can now wear open toe tights or pantyhose, from sheer to opaque, essentially giving you the best of both worlds. Colors, designs, and and your favorite open toed or peep toed shoe, has no bounds with these new style of pantyhose and tights. Which is, honestly one of the more popular ways to wear open toed shoes during the cooler months.
Another way to properly wear open toed shoes with pantyhose, is pairing a black tight with a black shoe, which tricks the eye to give the legs a longer look. The tight or hose should blend and flow with the outfit as well. The key really and preferably would be to wear an opaque textured tight. As these usually give the shoe a life of its' own without giving the outfit that granny feel. If you must wear sheer hose, make sure the foot of the leg wear doesn't have much of or an undistinguished toe seam, so as to not give your look that granny appearance as well. Darker colored tights paired with a bright shoe can give an outfit that extra punch, also; However, be careful not to go too bright unless it is a metallic, gold, or pewter as you may end up looking like a circus act. One final tip would be to NOT wear a thin strapped peep toe shoe, as this is still a fashion no-no, and stylist described this look as just plain ugly. The chunky and bulky shoe are preferable for the open toed or peep toe shoe with hose or tights.
Now that the broken rule of open toed shoes and pantyhose has thrust itself onto the fashion scene, will you indulge in this once forbidden fashion blunder?
